BM Chess Event

• All participants are first required to create their login id and password on https://lichess.org/
• This is very easy and self explanatory process and will take only 2 minutes.
• You need to give your user id and password (your preference) and need to provide your mail id to reset your password in case if you forgot it in future.

• After Payment is done, you will be redirected to Lichess Team Joining Link – Enter Password – “chess123”
• Once you Join BM Chess for Kids– Join in for Tournament will be displayed on your Dashboard – Join Tournament – Tournament will start on 8^th June at 5:30 pm

• Once you Join BM Chess Lovers Team – Join in for Tournament will be displayed on your Dashboard – Join Tournament – Tournament will start on 8^th June at 9:00 pm

• Tournament will be in Swiss league format. This means that all participate will play all the rounds irrespective of the results. There will not be knock out rounds. So, all players irrespective of Win/Loss/Draw will be able to Play all rounds.
• A Bye will be awarded to player if opponent player does not log in on any particular day of tournament.
• There will be 5 rounds – 1 Round per day – 5:30pm for Kids & 9:00pm for players above 15 years age group.
• Time control will be 15 min with 5 second increment per move for both the players.
• Game will finish with checkmate (win/loss) or stalemate (draw) position on the board. If nothing happens out of these both the possibilities, then result will be declared based on time. Whose time finishes first, he/she will lose the game provided winning material should be available on the board. This means, at least a pawn or rook, or queen or two bishops or one bishop and one knight are considered as a winning material. Only one bishop, one or two knights are draw material. If you are left with draw material and even opponent’s time finish, still result of the game will be draw due to insufficient winning material with you.

• Pairing/color will be automatically decided by the system and there is no manual intervention.
• Win/Loss/Bye – All results will be calculated Automatically depending on factors mentioned above. There will be no Manual intervention in this.
• Tournament organizers will not be responsible for any issues caused by the player’s unawareness or technical issues like power cut, battery down, no connectivity etc.
• We will follow all the standard rules of the game as per the FIDE.
• 3 winners from each Age Group (First, Second, Third) will be announced after the end of Last Round of Tournament Day for specific Age Groups. Attractive Prizes + Digital Certificates for all.
• Lichess can be accessed using Lichess.org website OR Lichess application can also be downloaded to Play Matches.

• Special Request – Parents are requested not to intervene in between during Kids Chess matches – Except for any Technical Glitches – We do trust and believe in All parents.
• Lichess Software can detect any malpractices of using any other software for playing during the course of Play, leading to blocking of players account. Request all Players to Please Play without use of third party softwares.

Note: Most of you might know the movements of all the pieces. We will suggest try to understand the rules for castling, en-passant and stalemate which most of you may not be aware in correct manner.
